Saturday, July 16: Scripture – Mark 1:10
10 And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove upon him.
Prayer Focus: We think of the dove as a quiet and sweet bird. It just coo’s, right? And yet, at Jesus’ baptism the heavens are torn apart, ripped open, and the Spirit descends like a dove. The dove is the physical image that accompanies the almost violent removal of the barrier between heaven and earth. Pray that God might tear open the heavens and come down today. Lord, knows we need an intervention from the divine today! Perhaps that intervention is you.
