And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”
Prayer Focus: It is here at Jesus’ baptism we hear God saying, “You are my son, I love you, I am well pleased with you.” This is before Jesus has done preaching and teaching. It’s before he healed the sick and fixed what was broken. It’s before he gives his life for all people on the cross. BEFORE Jesus has done anything, God loves him and is pleased with him. This is how God loves each of us. We can do nothing to earn that love, or to lose that love, that is how great God’s love for us is. Pray this week that all people might come to know this truth and feel God’s love.
