44 Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not take care of you?’
45 Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’
46 And these will go away into eternal punishment but the righteous into eternal life.”
Prayer Focus: Both the righteous and the accursed are surprised that the Lord was present in their midst. They both ask, “When did we see you?” Surely if we knew it was Jesus we would care for him, right? And yet, I know that I fail to always see the needs around me and to care for Jesus in the least of these. If I was sorting, I would put myself in the category of goat. Pray that we might be good goats, who rely not on our own efforts but the grace of God to be welcomed home.
