Saturday, December 11: Scripture – Luke 2:13-14
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!”
Prayer Focus: I always imagine the angel joined by a huge angel choir singing these words. But a careful reading of the text says that the multitude of the heavenly hosts praises God and says: “Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth peace among those whom he favors!” Surely it was not read in a monotone or in the blah, blah, blah of the adults in the Peanuts cartoons. The sign that the angel speaks the truth is the child in the manger, but still, there are some fireworks to share on this night with the heavenly host’s praise of the Lord. Join your voice with the angels today and praise the Lord!
