Saturday, April 8: Scripture – Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Prayer Focus: While we wait in the silence of Saturday, we hear these verses from the letter to the Hebrews. Because of our great high priest, Jesus, who was also the sacrifice, we have access to the throne of grace. I’m not sure that I’ve noticed the language, “with boldness” before. Even as we wait in the silence of Saturday, we do so with boldness and hope. For through Christ we receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.
