1 Shout out, do not hold back! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Announce to my people their rebellion, to the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet day after day they seek me and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that practiced righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments, they delight to draw near to God.
Prayer Focus: This is the fourth week with our Annual Vision for Ministry on Connections. And the key verb for this week is “repairing.” We turn to the prophet Isaiah to hear the Lord’s word to us this week and the first word we hear is an indictment. Shout out, do not hold back! Announce to my people their rebellion. Be honest about what is broken. Be honest about how you have fallen short of God’s ordinance and ways. Do not pretend that all is well. Before a connection can be repaired, we must admit it is broken. Pray that you might acknowledge the broken connections in your life, in our community, and in our church today.
