Monday, November 20th: Scripture – Deuteronomy 8:7-10

7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with flowing streams, with springs and underground waters welling up in valleys and hills,

8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey,

9 a land where you may eat bread without scarcity, where you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron and from whose hills you may mine copper.

10 You shall eat your fill and bless the Lord your God for the good land that he has given you.

Prayer Focus: In this week dedicated to Thanksgiving and gratitude, we will think about two scripture passages in our daily devotions. We begin with a reminder of the goodness of the Lord. As the people of Israel prepare to enter the Promised Land after their 40 year exodus journey, Moses reminds them of what God has in store for them. It is a good land, flowing with milk and honey, where they will lack nothing. In the midst of these great gifts the instruction is simple: bless the Lord your God for what you have received. Pray that you might see your blessings today and, even more, thank the Lord for them.
