1Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. 2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with that person.”
Prayer Focus: Nicodemus was a religious leader and a teacher of the law, which means he was well known in the community. He has recognized something special about this person Jesus, and believes he is from God. But Nicodemus comes to him at night because he did not want to be seen openly consulting with him. He was afraid to be seen with Jesus because he was afraid of persecution from his own people. Are there ways that our fear holds us back from fully following Christ? Pray today that your faith might be stronger than your fear, and that you will have the courage to follow Christ.
