Prayer Focus: The entire letter of Revelation has been moving toward the final vision in chapters 21 and 22. John sees the new heaven and the new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. In addition, there is this curious phrase, “the sea was no more.” For those who generally viewed the sea as chaos and threat, this image of no more sea is very comforting. Just as God brought order to the chaos in the creation as recorded in Genesis, here in the final vision God once again tames the chaos as part of the new heaven and new earth. God intends to bring order to the chaos of your life and that threatens God’s world. Pray that the new heaven and the new earth might come quickly.
