Monday, May 15: Scripture – Acts 1:1-2
1 In the first book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and teach
2 until the day when he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
Prayer Focus: We have jumped around a bit in the Acts of the Apostles during this Easter season and this week we return to the opening verses. It is not often that we get to hear the voice of the narrator in scripture. Luke reminds his reader “Theophilus” of all that he wrote in what we know as the Gospel according to Luke. Theophilus translates as “one who loves God.” So, this Gospel has been written for you. The Acts of the Apostles are written for you. Pray that as you read and pray, you might grow to love God more and more.
