Monday, March 6: Scripture – Joshua 4:1-3
1 When the entire nation had finished crossing over the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua,
2 “Select twelve men from the people, one from each tribe,
3 and command them, ‘Take twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests’ feet stood, carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you camp tonight.’ ”
Prayer Focus: Our second text in the Step Up and Step Out Lenten and Stewardship series for this year is also a text from a moment of transition for God’s people. The people of Israel have wandered in the wilderness for forty years after God delivered them from slavery in Egypt. Now they are crossing over the Jordan to enter into the Promised Land. It will be important to remember this moment. What helps you remember what God has done for you? Is it a place or a particular thing? Pray that you might identify something that helps you remember God’s gifts of grace to you today.
