Prayer Focus: Our hymn for this week is “Lift High the Cross” and our daily devotions follow the second chapter of 1 Corinthians. In the first chapter of his letter to the church in Corinth, Paul describes how some desire signs and others seek wisdom or sound argument. Yet, God acts to redeem the world through the cross. Paul declares that he has decided to know nothing except Jesus Christ and him crucified. What is the summary of your gospel? I tend to emphasize the resurrection of Christ and the empty tomb, but at least in this instance, Paul focuses on Christ crucified. Pray that you might see the heart of the gospel today.
