Scripture – Romans 8:26-27 

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words. 27 And God, who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 

Prayer Focus: We look forward this coming Sunday to a visit by PCUSA Global Ecumenical Liaison Cindy Corell. Cindy served for many years as a Mission Co-Worker in Haiti and has now taken on a new role in the reorganized PCUSA World Missions. And yet with all the changes related to missions and our denomination, Cindy has chosen a classic scripture from which to preach on Sunday. It begins with the recognition that we do not know how to pray as we ought. So we trust that God intercedes on our behalf. Give thanks that the Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words.
