Prayer Focus: What expectations are we filled with today? In this moment in Luke’s gospel, the people are expecting the Messiah, someone who can lead them out of their current struggles and fix all that is broken. The people were also “questioning in their hearts,” they were trying to discern who they would follow. As we look for the ways in which God is present in our lives, we are also invited to discern who we will follow. Pray today that we might listen for the voice of God in the voices of those around us, and when we hear it, we might follow faithfully.
