1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
Prayer Focus: This week we turn to the beginning of chapter 15 in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians. Paul’s letter has been about overcoming divisions in this young church and so begins to conclude his letter with a reminder of the gospel that he preached to them. The gospel is both preached and heard/received. For Paul, this is the good news by which we are saved, if it is held firm. What are you holding firmly this week? Where are you finding your footing? How are you being made whole? Lift up these prayers to the Lord today.
