Scripture – Exodus 3:1

1 Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian; he led his flock beyond the wilderness and came to Mount Horeb, the mountain of God.

Prayer Focus: Our Lenten theme this year is “Transformed by Love” and after last weeks’ reflections on our theme verse, we turn this week to the first Scriptural story of one who was transformed by their encounter with God. In the Book of Exodus we find Moses is keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro. He was at work when God decided to reach out and invite him to an unbelievable mission of liberation. What do you expect will happen at work for you today? If you are retired, what are you expecting will happen during whatever you have planned? Pray for eyes to see when God shows up in the midst of the most ordinary and mundane activities of your day today.
