1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower.
Prayer Focus: I will admit that I have never been successful at growing anything. So, I sometimes struggle with agricultural metaphors in scripture. Jesus is speaking with his disciples on his final night with them and says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower.” Jesus goes all in on the agricultural metaphor here as God is described as one who grows vines. Jesus is not static, but a true growing, living, breathing vine that the Father is tending. As we continue through the Lenten Season and begin a particular look at Stewardship this week, I encourage you to consider how you are growing in Christ. Where is the Father, the vinegrower, tending your life? Pray that you might see those areas of growth today.
