1 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, in you I trust; do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.
3 Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame;let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
Prayer Focus: This week we enter the season of Lent, a time of preparation, confession, and repentance as we journey to the cross and the empty tomb. So often Lent is described as a time to “give up” something. And yet, this year at Unity Presbyterian Church we are encouraging you to use this season as a time to embrace Christ and the joy that only he can bring. We will be exploring this theme throughout the season ahead. In today’s verses from Psalm 25 we find the contrast between honor and shame. The Psalmist lifts up her soul and trusts in God. In doing so the Psalmist requests that God not let others put her to shame. Are you ashamed or are you honored today? Pray that you might lift up your soul to the Lord, not tear it down. Pray that you might not be put to shame.
