26 Then an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” (This is a wilderness road.) 27 So he got up and went.
Prayer Focus: The Season of Easter often includes readings from the Book of Acts. As we begin again, we too seek to live as Easter people. One of the first deacons, Philip, is given instruction by an angel of the Lord to get up and go south to a wilderness road. Philip had been chosen by the apostles to serve as a “deacon” or one to care for those in the young church who were not getting enough to eat. But the Lord has an additional task in store for Philip. Do not be surprised when God has something new for you to do today. Pray that you might get up and go.
