Thursday, January 7: Scripture – Mark 1:6-7
6 Now John was clothed with camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 7 He proclaimed, “The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals.
Prayer Focus: John looks like a prophet. He doesn’t look like a priest in the temple, despite the fact that he comes from a family of priests. No, he looks like a prophet. Prophets point us to God. They call us to stop what we are doing or begin something new, so that we might draw closer to the God who loves us. John points us to Jesus – the one who is more powerful that he is. Pray for the ability to point others to Jesus. Pray that you might be a prophet today.
