4 John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 And people from the whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to him, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
Prayer Focus: The good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God begins not with Jesus, but with a baptizer named John. John proclaims a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. He proclaims a new beginning that comes by turning around and heading back to God. For what in your life do you need to turn away from today? Imagine God waiting behind you with open arms to welcome you home. Pray that you might turn into those loving arms today.
