Wednesday, January 13: Scripture – 1 Samuel 3:4-5
4 Then the Lord called, “Samuel! Samuel!” and he said, “Here I am!” 5 and ran to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” So he went and lay down.
Prayer Focus: The Lord calls Samuel by name and Samuel responds, “Here I am!” It is a response indicating availability. Samuel reinforces this response by running to Eli and repeating the refrain: “Here I am, for you called me.” Are you ready to jump up and run at any moment if the Lord calls? Pray that you might be that open to both hearing and responding to God’s call to you.
