Friday, September 23: Scripture – Luke 16:28
27 He said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house—
28 for I have five brothers—that he may warn them, so that they will not also come into this place of torment.’
Prayer Focus: The rich man realizes that his time is past, but perhaps he can act on behalf of his brothers. This is the first indication in the parable that the rich man is thinking of someone other than himself. What is necessary for you to consider the needs of someone else? How focused are you on your own responsibilities, needs, and desires that you miss potential opportunities to aid others? Pray that you might have eyes to see beyond your own concerns today.
