Scripture – Psalm 114:3-4

3 The sea looked and fled;

    Jordan turned back.

4 The mountains skipped like rams,

    the hills like lambs.

Prayer Focus: On this day of remembrance, these verses from the psalmist recall for us Israel’s journey through the sea and through the desert. The sea fled, the river turned back. The mountains skipped like rams and the hills like lambs. The very creation participates in the deliverance of God’s people. How might creation be a part of this day of remembrance? Does the soil cry out? Does the sea flee? Do the mountains skip like rams? Where do you see God at work to deliver God’s people from chains and despair and destruction today?
