10 Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was a great deal of grass in the place; so they sat down, about five thousand in all.
11 Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted.
Prayer Focus: There must be a better way to distribute food to 5000 people than Jesus distributing it to them by hand. I once heard a preacher say he thought Jesus could have made the bread levitate over all of their heads and drop in their laps. Maybe the disciples passed out the bread, but at least a plain reading of the text indicates it was Jesus himself who did the distributing. Give thanks for what Jesus has given you today and rejoice when you have more than you need.
