1 Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord guards the city,
the guard keeps watch in vain.
Prayer Focus: In this election week, it is easy to be pulled into all the commentary and focus on particular candidates, polling data, and the results as votes are cast and counted. All of that is vital and good work, but as the church we continue to lift our eyes so that our focus remains on the Lord. Unless the Lord builds the house, we build in vain. What are we building as a church? What are we building as a community? What are we building as a nation? Is the Lord in our building? Pray for courage to build with the Lord instead of crafting our own dwelling places.
