Friday, November 11: Scripture – Ephesians 4:11-13
11 He himself granted that some are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers
12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
13 until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
Prayer Focus: The various roles of leadership in the church identified by Paul in these verses are illustrative, not exhaustive. But the intention is that all of them are for equipping the saints for the work of ministry, and for building up the body of Christ until all of us come to unity of faith and to maturity. Until we stand alongside Christ. Is this the goal of your service in the church and in the world? How are you contributing today to the equipping of saints for ministry, for building up the body of Christ, for greater unity and maturity? Pray that all that you do today might serve this purpose, especially in the midst of forces which seek to tear down and divide.
