14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.
Prayer Focus: Jesus no longer calls his disciples servants, but friends. What a powerful image that is. Not only is Christ the Lord of heaven and earth, but he draws near enough to us and cares enough about us that we might be called “friend.” We do not decide that Jesus is our friend; no he calls us friends. Rest in this knowledge today. Believe that you have a friend in Jesus because he calls your friend.
