10 While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. 11 They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
Prayer Focus: Jesus ascended into heaven and a cloud took him out of the sight of the disciples. The disciples continue to stand there looking up at the clouds. If Jesus suddenly lifted up into heaven, I think I might have been shocked into silently staring at the sky too. But two men in white robes remind the disciples that Jesus has given them a task to do. Don’t just stand around looking at the heavens. Go back to Jerusalem, like Jesus told you, because the task of the disciples is not finished yet. Pray with the expectation that God has something more for you to do today than just look at the clouds.
