21 The Lord went in front of them in a pillar of cloud by day, to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light, so that they might travel by day and by night.
Prayer Focus: Think about our hymn for this week, “Be Thou My Vision.” The first verse includes, “by day or by night, waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.” Reflecting on those words led me to this scripture as the Lord leads the people by day and by night, with a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire. Can we trust that God truly never leaves us? Can we believe that God will lead us by day and by night? Pray that you might know the presence of the Lord with you always.
