Friday, January 27: Scripture – Micah 6:3-5
3 “O my people, what have I done to you?
In what have I wearied you? Answer me!
4 For I brought you up from the land of Egypt
and redeemed you from the house of slavery,
and I sent before you Moses,
Aaron, and Miriam.
5 O my people, remember now what King Balak of Moab devised,
what Balaam son of Beor answered him,
and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal,
that you may know the saving acts of the Lord.”
Prayer Focus: The Lord’s case against God’s people begins with a question. What have I done to you? Have you ever felt that way? Felt like you’ve only acted in the best interest of someone (brought them up from the land of Egypt and delivered them from slavery), and yet still they seem to have a grudge against you? Pray for persistence in your acts for others. Pray that even on the days when you ask., “Why am I still doing this?” that there might be a glimmer of hope and recognition. Pray that the question “what I have done to you?” might be transformed into “how might we find God’s blessing in our life together?”
