36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Prayer Focus: Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. I wonder if this is actually more helpful than the Golden Rule for creating the beloved community. For the challenge is not just to treat people in the way that you would want to be treated. The challenge is to treat people as God treats them. And the Father is merciful. Pray that you might be full of mercy today – for I suspect you will have the opportunity to use that gift.
