3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God,
4 got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself.
5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him.
Prayer Focus: In the middle of dinner, Jesus gets up from the table, takes off his outer robe, ties a towel around himself, and begins to wash the disciples’ feet. This is an amazing turn of events. Jesus had been welcomed into Jerusalem just days before as a King. Now, here he is on his hands and knees performing the work of a servant. Pray that you might never see yourself as above serving others. Pray that you might be willing to serve in even the dusty and dirty jobs of ministry today.
