16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him, but they doubted.
Prayer Focus: We shift this morning to a resurrection appearance story from the Gospel according to Matthew. At the empty tomb, the disciples were told to go to Galilee, and they would see Jesus there. Matthew’s Gospel concludes with this mountain top encounter with Jesus in Galilee. The disciples see Jesus, they worship him, and they doubt. Do you carry a bit of both worship and doubt with you? Do you have faith to make your pledge on Sunday and wonder if you’ll really be able to fulfill it? Is there any risk for you in your pledge of time, treasure, or talent? Is making a pledge an exciting opportunity for growth or just an assurance that you can do what you’ve always done. When the disciples saw Jesus, they worshiped, and they doubted. Pray that you might enter into that moment of both worship and doubt today.
