26 A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
Prayer Focus: A week later, the disciples were again in the house and Thomas was present with them. Jesus appears to them again and shares his peace with them. He specifically addresses Thomas and offers him what Thomas requested the week before. Notice that Thomas does not put his finger in the mark of the nails nor place his hand in Jesus’ side. And yet, he still makes the strongest declaration of faith of anyone in the entire Gospel of John. “My Lord and my God!” Pray that you might so declare your faith today! Speak the words aloud. Share the Good News! Do not doubt, but believe!
