Scripture – Isaiah 50:4b-5
4b Morning by morning he wakens,
wakens my ear
to listen as those who are taught.
5 The Lord God has opened my ear,
and I was not rebellious;
I did not turn backward.
Prayer Focus: As the old hymn goes, “Morning by morning, new mercies I see.” Here the prophet indicates that every morning the Lord awakens our ears in addition to our eyes. Every day we need to be turned from rebellion toward obedience. Pray that you might have ears to hear today. Listen for God’s word to you that is new every morning.
