27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, you of little faith!
Prayer Focus: For the second time, Jesus presents as the opposite of “worry” the verb “consider.” Earlier it was consider the ravens. Here it is consider the lilies. Instead of a scientific examination of the ravens and the lilies, Jesus is encouraging us to something like “delight.” Taking delight in God’s good creation shifts our focus away from our worries to the good gifts we might know as a part of creation. Pray that you might delight today!
