2 At that time Eli, whose eyesight had begun to grow dim so that he could not see, was lying down in his room; 3 the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was.
Prayer Focus: In the evening, Eli and Samuel are both lying down. Do you take time to rest each day? Do you get enough sleep? Perhaps we fail to hear the Lord speak because we are too busy and do not pause to actually listen? “Here I Am, Lord” can sometimes feel like a call to get up and serve, but today, I encourage you to pray for time to rest. Pray that when you lay down to sleep this evening that you will be able to rest your mind and truly find rest.
