1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
Prayer Focus: The season of Easter ends with Pentecost, which we celebrate as fifty days after Easter Sunday. This year, we will read the familiar Pentecost text from Acts 2 and yet consider it in the context of this coming Sunday’s recognition of our High School graduates. The disciples were all together when suddenly they were overwhelmed with the sound and the feel of a violent wind. Have you ever been overwhelmed? I suspect that we all have at some point in our life. Pray that instead of facing these overwhelming moments alone, you might draw near those you love and trust. For just like these first disciples, we prepare together for what God is calling us to do.
