Prayer Focus: It is hard for us to fathom the idea of choosing such an important office as apostle by casting lots. That’s essentially by coin flip. And yet, the disciples were convinced that God’s will would be done and accomplished in all things. So, they cast lots and the lot fell on Matthias. He was added to the apostles. But this is the last time we hear of him in scripture. We assume that he served with faithfulness in quiet ways that are not recorded in scripture. Pray for all those who serve behind the scenes and in quiet ways. And do not forget, that if it is possible for you, to call your mother today.
