Prayer Focus: As is typically the case for a biblical prophet, the prophet hears God’s call and initially responds with an objection. Lord, you must be mistaken because … In Jeremiah’s case he believes he is too young to be a prophet to the nations. He is too young to be transformed into the unfolding story God has in mind for him. What are our objections? What is holding you back, what is holding our church back, from joining God’s transforming and unfolding story? Pray that in our appreciation of an anniversary, we do not use the occasion to hold us back from the new future that God intends.
