Saturday, October 14: Scripture – Psalm 15:2-5a
2 Those who walk blamelessly and do what is right and speak the truth from their heart;
3 who do not slander with their tongue and do no evil to their friends nor heap shame upon their neighbors;
4 in whose eyes the wicked are despised but who honor those who fear the Lord; who stand by their oath even to their hurt;
5 who do not lend money at interest and do not take a bribe against the innocent.
Prayer Focus: We continue with Psalm 15 and find that the Psalmist believes a series of ethical actions are necessary for life in community with God. Not denying that we are only present in the first place due to God’s amazing grace, there is an expectation of what we then do next. Walk blamelessly, do what is right, and speak the truth from the heart. These are expanded in the verses that follow, but recognize it is hard work to walk blamelessly and speak the truth. Pray for the faith, the courage, and the wisdom to do and say what is right today.
