Monday, October 9: Scripture – 1 John 1:5
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
Prayer Focus: As we continue to introduce Unity’s Annual Vision of Ministry: God’s Story and Our Stories, we turn our focus this week to “Discerning and telling the truth, especially when it is difficult and demanding.” We live in a world where truth seems to be up for debate as opposed to established fact. Yet, we also recognize that all that we know and believe today as essential for human flourishing was not engraved in stone at the beginning of time. How do we find our way between these two extremes? In the first letter of John we hear the call to proclaim the message that the disciples heard from Jesus, that God is light and in God there is no darkness at all. Proclaiming the truth should lead to light and being able to see more clearly. Pray that the truth you share enlightens today.
