Saturday, October 7: Scripture – Luke 10:40
40 But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her, then, to help me.”
Prayer Focus: Martha was distracted by her many tasks. She asks Jesus to tell Mary to help her with these many tasks. All of our many tasks are important and recognizing when we need help is actually a virtue. So let’s not vilify Martha for her question, but let’s join her in praying for an easing of distractions. Pray that you might bring focus to your listening to the stories that shape the lives of those in our community today. Pray that you might truly be present.
