Friday, October 6: Scripture – Luke 10:38-39
38 Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him.
39 She had a sister named Mary, who sat at Jesus’s feet and listened to what he was saying.
Prayer Focus: Once again this week we hear two scripture texts as a part of these daily devotions. Jesus enters a certain village with his disciples and Martha welcomes him. Her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to what he was saying. This week we seek to cultivate a posture of listening with empathy and curiosity. Mary is often held up as an example of doing just that. Pray that you might listen to Jesus today and the ways that Jesus shapes our stories.
