Friday, September 29: Scripture – Matthew 9:35
35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing every disease and every sickness.
Prayer Focus: Today we turn to our New Testament scripture for this week from the Gospel of Matthew. It begins with a brief summary of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. He taught in the synagogues, proclaimed the good news of the kingdom, and cured every disease and sickness. Do you have a summary of the gospel that you could share if asked by a friend or an acquaintance? In the language of sales, it’s called your “elevator pitch.” I suspect there is a bit more you would want to say about Jesus than this verse, so pray for the words today for you to witness to God’s good news.
