Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it. Mark 10:15
Children remind us how to be dependent. Young children are not afraid to cry out for help from those they trust. As we grow, something in us changes. We do not like to give up our independence. “But one of the great lessons of the spiritual life is that we must learn to be dependent upon God.”1
With what do you need to ask God’s help today? Is there a situation you have tried to control, but now realize you need to give up to God? Pray about that now. You might even want to write down your prayer request. Many people find that keeping a prayer journal helps them see, over time, God’s hand in the situations for which they have been praying.
