Friday, May 5: Scripture – John 14:6-7
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
7 If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Prayer Focus: The entire conversation has led to this point. The way, the truth, and the life are not some abstract “thing,” they are a “whom.” Jesus himself is the way, the truth, and the life. He is access to the Father. If you know Jesus, you know the Father. Remember the purpose of this whole conversation is to ease the disciples’ troubled hearts. This verse often becomes a litmus test or a way to separate those in God’s good graces from those who must be outsiders. But do not let your hearts be troubled – the way is Jesus and he wants you to be where he is.
