Monday, March 13: Scripture – Psalm 37:1-2
1 Do not fret because of the wicked; do not be envious of wrongdoers,
2 for they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
Prayer Focus: As we enter into the third week of our Lenten and Stewardship series, “Step Up and Step Out,” we turn to the Psalms. The key verse for our theme comes at the end of this text. But let us walk slowly through this psalm to reach verse 23. We begin with a command not to fret because of the wicked. While it rarely works to tell someone not to worry, it is probably a good idea for us to avoid spending time worrying about those who are wicked. The psalmist says that the wicked and the wrongdoers are like grass that will wither and fade. Pray that you might spend more time focused on your own life of faithfulness and less time focused on the failings of others.
