Thursday, February 2: Scripture – Matthew 5:13
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.
Prayer Focus: We turn to the second scripture for this week with this text from the Sermon on the Mount. Two weeks ago we considered the Beatitudes which begin this chapter. Jesus now shifts his sermon with some concrete metaphors. You are salt. You bring taste and spice to the world. However, if that saltiness is lost, how can it be restored? Pray today for those who have lost their way, who have forgotten who they are. Pray that you will be salt for them today.
